Netflix will stream streaming video services in Europe for 30 days to ease the pressure on Internet service providers




Due to coronavirus, residents of most parts of Europe are living in isolation in their homes. The demand for streaming has increased.

The streaming service company claims that reducing image quality can reduce data costs by up to 25 percent. Even then, customers will be able to see good quality pictures - Khabar BBC.

The plan is believed to include the United Kingdom. The BBC made no comment when contacted by Netflix on behalf of the BBC.

Netflix made the announcement after a phone call with European officials.

European Commissioner of Internal Markets Thierry Bretton recently said, "When HD is not needed, consumers should watch videos in standard definition."

For some programs, Ultra-High Definition 30 is shown by the streaming giant.

According to the organization, "Netflix has decided to reduce video quality in Europe for five days, following discussions between Commissioner Thierry Breton and Reed Hastings (head of Netflix) and considering the unusual challenges of coronavirus."

Praising the decision, Breton said, "Very good step." After a phone call, Netflix took only a few hours to say, "They will work to maintain a seamless Internet connection in covid19."

Netflix has yet to say whether similar measures will be taken in regions such as North America.
